Overview
Muroran International Communication Promotion Council(MICPC) was established in November 1987 to promote further development of municipal and regional internationalization in Muroran. The missions include collecting and analyzing information about international communication, supporting foreign exchange students and residents, providing various international exchange activities in various fields, and promoting local internationalization activities. Currently, about 39 local governmental offices and international exchange associations and groups are represented in the members of the council.

- Cooking Classes by foreigners
- Sapporo Snow Festival Tour for International Students
- Japanese Culture Experience & Lunchen Party (Kimono, Flower Arrangements & Tea Ceremony)
- Japanese Language & Culture Learning Salon for Beginners "Nihongo Salon" (once a month)
- Foreign Language Volunteer Interpreters
- Publications of Free local English newspaper, "Muroran Times" (Currently suspending publication)
