The City of Muroran benefits from an excellent natural port, advanced technology which has contributed to the development of Hokkaido industries, the talents of our people, lush greenery which soothes our hearts, and the resourceful sea.
Above all, the hearts of every citizen who loves our city are it''s most precious
assets. We all hope that Muroran will be even more attractive to young people
in the future and provide an agreeable environment so that the city is always
filled with beaming faces.
In this era of local autonomy emphasizing "independence and self-sustainability" and "citizens'' participation in city planning". Muroran will work hand in hand with our citizens to improve our city''s prospects. We believe that city planning for the new century relies on fully utilizing the circles of people, communities, ports, nature and industries, and the large symbol of unity of hearts, the Hakucho Bridge in our "city of circles encompassing the sea, and science & technology".
This website was edited in such a way that visitors may feel the atmosphere
of our city, which is to take bold steps into the new century. It focuses
